Starting Up!

Well, today is Monday---that can only mean one thing. Yes, I am back on the weightloss wagon this morning. My hands feel so swelled up this morning. 1st, I think I slept wrong, 2nd I am retaining water---and why may I ask, is aunt flo on her way already? She is gonna be early dammit! Anyway, so today we are back to eating right and doing some form of exercise. My goal is to work out during the day---hopefully when Jack is taking his nap this afternoon. I can't go in the garage because I need to watch the boy (who knows what trouble he would get himself into if he woke up) so I think I will try a cardio tape I have. I have to food journal too, because that is the only way to keep me on track these days. I haven't been doing too great the last few weeks, so I MUST try really hard!

Happy Sunday!

Today we took our Beagle to the Vet---I am happy to report, that they will remove his growth as well as tack down the ear skin to the cartilage on his left ear without needing the expensive tests. They said he seemed very healthy and that his skin and ear problems are probably due to allergies so now we have Shad on an anahistimine (sp) and some antibiotics to clear up the "hot spots". We got out of there for under 200 bucks! We are taking him in on Wednesday to have the surgery taken care of.

The kids spent the day with the grandparents, going to McDonalds, the park and to 7-11 to get a slurpee. Jack is napping, Aunica is playing and Ken is outside trying out his new weed whacker. We also bought all the parts we need to build the closet organizers. Hopefully Ken and his dad get them all up this week. They say it should be a breeze---just measure and screw stuff in. I can't wait to see it all done.

Tomorrow I am back on the weightloss wagon. Now that my friends are home from vacations and ready to work, we are all going to start exercising and eating better. I have to drop the bad carbs and all the sugar I have been eating and I will be on a roll again. My personal goal is to lose another 25 pounds by my birthday. There is 15 weeks until my next birthday (which means less than 15 weeks until Xmas) and I can probably do 1.5 pounds on average per week so that is about 25 pounds (if a couple weeks are more by a few ounces). I will still have more to lose after that, but I want to look towards the small goals first. Long term once I am on the ball again.

Long time no type huh?

Today I woke up before everyone else (it was 7:30) and I decided to dye my hair. I was halfway done when Jack came into the bathroom followed by Aunica. Aunica said "ew, what's that smell!" It was great, she and Jack went and crawled into bed with daddy and let me alone to finish my hair. Maybe I found a new job opportunity---bottle peroxide and hair dye smell and sell it as a child ward off scent---it will help moms get a few minutes to themselves LOL

We are taking our dog to the vet tomorrow (we have an appointment at 11:30) to have his skin looked at an a growth on his eyelid removed. I hate going to the vet...the last time we went we came home with a 2000 dollar bill. They always say that since he is an "senior" dog that he needs a blood test, and a 2 organ ultrasound just so they can do the growth removal. The tests cost 700 dollars and the stupid growth removal is 80 bucks. You tell me---that's insanity right? So tomorrow I have a plan of attack. 1) I will say that we cannot afford to spend 700 bucks to make sure he can survive a growth removal. I mean, what is the use to spend the 700 bucks if all they will find out is that he "might" not survive the removal. He is 11 years old. I can't see how 6 months can make that much difference. He just had all those tests in March. I am going to okay the removal of growths, his rabies shot (do you think they would reposess my dog eventually since I have gotten 4 notices that it needs to be done LOL) and maybe some antibiotic shampoo for his skin. I think he has hotspots. He doesn't have fleas but he has a few bare spots on his back where there is no hair.

Ken is mowing the lawns and swearing at the weed whacker. He has this hate-hate relationship with it. He says it is finally broken and we are stopping by home depot to buy a new one. I also went to the closetmaid website and designed our closets and we are supposed to buy the supplies so he can start putting them in as well. It will be nice to have everything out of the familyroom that should be in a bedroom and have places to hang clothes and shelves to stack games and crap on. ahhh, the weekend!

On a side note, do you think it is wrong to have a family tradition that has to do with food? For as long as I can remember, we have taken the kids to Wendy's for lunch 1 time a week, either on Saturday or Sunday. Do you think it is setting a bad example to be having fast food 1 time a week as a family? I mean, we are spending time together, talking about things...but we are eating fast food. When I am actually following my diet (which starts again Monday) I get chili and a side salad, but the kids get chicken nuggets and fries. I guess it is only once a week after all.
