Today I woke up before everyone else (it was 7:30) and I decided to dye my hair. I was halfway done when Jack came into the bathroom followed by Aunica. Aunica said "ew, what's that smell!" It was great, she and Jack went and crawled into bed with daddy and let me alone to finish my hair. Maybe I found a new job opportunity---bottle peroxide and hair dye smell and sell it as a child ward off scent---it will help moms get a few minutes to themselves LOL
We are taking our dog to the vet tomorrow (we have an appointment at 11:30) to have his skin looked at an a growth on his eyelid removed. I hate going to the vet...the last time we went we came home with a 2000 dollar bill. They always say that since he is an "senior" dog that he needs a blood test, and a 2 organ ultrasound just so they can do the growth removal. The tests cost 700 dollars and the stupid growth removal is 80 bucks. You tell me---that's insanity right? So tomorrow I have a plan of attack. 1) I will say that we cannot afford to spend 700 bucks to make sure he can survive a growth removal. I mean, what is the use to spend the 700 bucks if all they will find out is that he "might" not survive the removal. He is 11 years old. I can't see how 6 months can make that much difference. He just had all those tests in March. I am going to okay the removal of growths, his rabies shot (do you think they would reposess my dog eventually since I have gotten 4 notices that it needs to be done LOL) and maybe some antibiotic shampoo for his skin. I think he has hotspots. He doesn't have fleas but he has a few bare spots on his back where there is no hair.
Ken is mowing the lawns and swearing at the weed whacker. He has this hate-hate relationship with it. He says it is finally broken and we are stopping by home depot to buy a new one. I also went to the closetmaid website and designed our closets and we are supposed to buy the supplies so he can start putting them in as well. It will be nice to have everything out of the familyroom that should be in a bedroom and have places to hang clothes and shelves to stack games and crap on. ahhh, the weekend!
On a side note, do you think it is wrong to have a family tradition that has to do with food? For as long as I can remember, we have taken the kids to Wendy's for lunch 1 time a week, either on Saturday or Sunday. Do you think it is setting a bad example to be having fast food 1 time a week as a family? I mean, we are spending time together, talking about things...but we are eating fast food. When I am actually following my diet (which starts again Monday) I get chili and a side salad, but the kids get chicken nuggets and fries. I guess it is only once a week after all.
