Okay, so it has been Tuesday for awhile...as pointed out by my dear friend Kelly. So I guess I should update on everything around here---are you ready? Well, nothing really is going on here. I just finished up on a couple very busy weeks at Aunica's school and now we are going to run through the home stretch of this school year. We had the campout at Aunica's school last night which was fun, we ate dinner there, played some games, I talked to some friends and we made smores. We came home about 9:30--we didn't want to tent camp in the school field. In other news, Aunica is going to 3rd grade next year and her teacher has given me something to ponder. I can have the choiuce of whatever 3rd grade teacher I want, so now I have to decide whether or not to push/challenge my kid. There will be a 3/4 combo class next year with a really nice/loving teacher and I really would loveto be her class mom and to have her be Aunica's teacher. But I have never thought that Aunica would do well in a combo class but her teacher told me she thought it might be good for her. So now we are thinking about putting her in the combo class. They say the combo class student doesn't need to be the brightest or top of the class (she is smart, but not GATE) but they should be independent workers. She has become good at this...she tests advanced in math and language arts on benchmark and state testing so I know she understands the materials that she is being taught, but she doesn't always apply what she is learning to her work. Maybe a combo class will help push her into applying things more.
Jack will be starting regular Kindergarten in the Fall at the same school as Aunica...whoo hoo, I will finally have both kids ate the same school YAY Nothing else to report I guess. Talk at ya soon I hope,
Kelly...I am so happy that Ash finally is cleared to get some aids. I hope she enjoys them as much as Jack does. When we put them on him for the very first time he said "hey mom, I'm back"...it makes me teary just thinking about that afternoon. He was so excited and he has totally blossomed in his speech and sentence structure ever since. He has progressed so much that he no longer qualifies for speech (although they are going to keep him in a maintanance program for another 6 months) and he is at grade level or above grade level in everything! :)
